INNOVATIVE
Thanks to PhaseSpace's patented technology, age-old problems (marker swapping and dropouts) have been eliminated. The IMPULSE Motion Capture System delivers real-time tracking of 128 unique active markers, unlike older optical systems which use passive reflective markers. Even when a marker is occluded from the cameras, the system will still recognize the correct marker as it returns to view. The subject can move into and out of the capture space without issues. No Marker Templates or Asymmetry required; eliminating any initial marker setup.
CAMERAS
The heart of any optical motion capture system are the cameras. The IMPULSE System provides the highest resolution in the industry. Weighing in at 3600 x 3600 pixel resolution, each IMPULSE camera is equipped with two linear detectors, providing the equivalent of a 12.4 megapixel camera without sacrificing any speed in processing. Sub-pixel technology digitally enhances our system resolution to 30,000 x 30,000. Our superior resolution is paired with a superior Field-of-View. The IMPULSE camera boasts a 60 degree Field-of-View, enabling us to capture from within smaller spaces than possible with typical optical systems.
REAL TIME, REAL FAST
The filter is a useful tool-of-the-trade in Motion Capture, but can be misleading if the system is unable to produce reasonably clean data beforehand. Other systems filter their data to produce ultra smooth and ultimately unrealistic data. The PhaseSpace system provides actual raw data that is so clean that no filtering is necessary; capturing even the most subtle motions like breathing. The IMPULSE system has a true data capture rate of 480 Hz (frames/sec) . All of these features can be enjoyed in real-time, with less than 10ms latency.
